[ She had intended to start with something else, but after hearing his voicemail message she ends up starting with: ] You speak German? [ It comes out in German though, pushing the words out because it's something familiar to her. There's surprise to her tone as well, then again as all he's saying is "good day" maybe it isn't a thing he fully knows? She has no idea. ]

Anyway, it's Athena! I was wondering how you were doing? You weren't going around as a dog again were you? I heard a couple of dogs the other day that kept howling and I wasn't sure if you got into trouble or something... Uh. Anyway! I'll speak to you sometime soon I guess?

Gay Demon Calls | very early December

[At first, Jae-Ha had thought he was imagining it. The climate here is hot to begin with, and that whole full moon thing felt like it left a lasting heat in everyone. But this wasn't the same. Jumping wasn't helping him get any fresh air. In fact, even as the wind passed by his face, he felt worse. Weaker.

When he lands in the middle of the trees, interrupted from his small tasks for the townspeople, it's with an uncharacteristically clumsy stumble. He catches himself on a tree with one hand, placing the other to his forehead that he finds has grown from having a dull throb to full pounding pains. His hand is so shaky that when he goes to reach for his phone, it slips from his grip and drops into the mud.

All of it is escalating more quickly than he can imagine, but he remembers one more thing he can try. His presence is fading in some way that Mephisto might notice already, but just in case that's not enough, Jae-Ha manages at least one word.]

Samael... [It's all he can manage before he collapses, temporarily losing consciousness.]

[Somehow, some way (okay he’d decorated cakes for Elise before on Mori’s behalf shh), Chuuya manages to bake a small cake for Mephisto’s “birthday”. It’s kind of hard to track the guy down, but hopefully asking him to meet at their usual hotel over text will give Chuuya enough time to leave the cake and run, because how do feelings?

A small card next to it says “Happy Not-Birthday, Master” with a small hat drawn as the signature. Sappy.]
