[I mean, Mephisto is basically two steps away from being a final boss in a jrpg as it is, so that's really not too far off.]
[He can see Amaimon isn't too into it. Is he afraid of pissing him off again? It's not like Mephisto didn't understand -- he would have been similarly perplexed if Lucifer had approached him in such a way back in the day.]
[But first things first: he easily avoids the attack by disappearing in a poof, only to reappear behind Amaimon to try and knock him into the sand. But he's not using his full strength here, essentially just trying to shove him over while he's off balance from the kick.]
Is that really the best you've got? Why, even Okumura-kun could have avoided that one!
[Maybe he's just gotta piss him off?? That'll make it a honest fight, right? This can't possibly go wrong!]
[He manages to avoid a faceplant, half-supposing Mephisto would dodge his own attack, though he couldn't have been certain with how this place likes to interfere with....things, in general. He stumbles some, spins around to face his elder brother.
And naturally, he's not so pleased to be compared to Rin. That's -- totally unfair, if not too honest.]
Isn't that just because he doesn't like you?
[Which isn't true at all, of course -- probably? They seem close enough. Rin does blather on and on about gross convictions and annoying morals. It's kinda funny to see him romping about with Mephisto.
Or would be, if he weren't an eyesore.]
Shouldn't you be fighting him instead? If it's like that...
[Despite this, he's trying to retry his last kick attack. It isn't much different from his previous attempt, he's just moving a bit faster this time.]
I figured the game was thirsty enough to hit El Captcha twice and planned ahead!
[WOW COME ON RIN TOTALLY LIKES-- uh, no, actually that's pretty spot on. In fact, one of the things that inspired this little fight here is because of a fight he had with Rin earlier. A fight where he was actually bested by him! Sure, he wasn't exactly putting up much of a fight in return, but... still!]
Oh? You think Okumura-kun is more worthy of fighting me? Please, don't insult your--
[Now see, here's the part where Mephisto would stop time, quietly walk over behind Amaimon, and knock him off balance again. Because it's totally not cheating when that's simply an aspect of how he fights.]
[Except that doesn't happen. Nothing does, and instead Mephisto seemingly just stands there, waiting to take the hit.]
[He realizes it only a second too late for a proper plan B, instead throwing up his arms to try and guard against the kick. It hits solidly in his side, knocking him a good few feet across the ground and kicking up a fair amount of sand as he fights to remain standing.]
[But the look on his face might just betray his thoughts -- that wasn't what he was trying to do.]
--well! Look at that, you actually got a hit this time! [GONNA GRAB HIS LEGGY THO] But it won't happen twice. [AND SWING HIM AROUND AND CHUCK HIM ACROSS THE BEACH]
[...but only like, 10 feet away for now. Maybe that time was a fluke? He needs to sure here.]
Amaimon
