[Oh, he chuckles at that ungodly remark -- if he only knew.]
Not of the same sort, no. I've yet to find any true equivalent to demons and their ilk in this world, save for the rather unique flora and fauna that have sprouted up here. But it isn't too difficult to find similar work, so long as one knows how to properly apply their existing abilities to suit a given need... ah, much like the little trick I used to retrieve your book!
I mean, in a sense demons are aliens, at least as it was explained to me. Them and angels. Who knows, maybe their original world is out here somewhere.
Why, by that definition, we're all aliens here, aren't we?
[DEMONS AS ALIENS. It's not really inaccurate, they do come from another world -- but that world lies parallel to the human world where he comes from, not in a galaxy far far away.]
I suppose in a sense. Aliens and foreigners. Being able to speak with everyone is a small blessing though.
[A sort of aliens and alternate reality thing all in one. It's all very strange to think about. and he's about done with that sort of heavy thinking for the moment.]
We have the Natha to thank for that. But it's a bit dull as well.. have you made any attempts at speaking in another language? It takes a bit more of a concentrated effort now.
[Which is awful for Mister Tower of Babel over here who speaks basically every language humans know. #justdemonthings]
If only that was where the list of such things ended... ah, but on that note!
["That note" being "adversity in a physical form" of course. He takes a short bow.]
It occurs to me that I never did get around to properly introducing myself! And it would be most rude not to tell you my name when I'm already quite familiar with yours... Mr. Twilly.
[h e h]
[Ah, but what name to give? Though he typically reserved this sort of teasing for those who knew him as Mephisto, given this young man's knowledge of demons, that name would just be too obvious.]
[Eh, he can sort it out later.]
My name is Johann Faust. And I do hope you haven't found my teasing to be too off-putting.
[He's really offended for the moment by the butchering of his prestigious name, but also doesn't want to over react too strongly. Something about this guy reminds him of Mathers just a smidge. And William learned that getting too impassioned tended to just lead to encouragement.
But the names gives him pause. He remembers Isaac's blathering and blathering on a million occult subjects and other related things and shifts though his memory.]
As in the person from the story, or...
[He frowned, because from his experience, there was a fifty fifty percent chance of that being the actual truth.]
[Ah, so he's familiar with that story too? He should have expected as much, but it seems the story of Faust is far more common in other worlds than he thought. At least he has a good explanation on hand that fits nicely into his false persona here--]
[He stares for a moment before sighing, putting his hands on his hips and looking a little bit exasperated, the face of a man who has heard this accusation far too many times -- or at least, that's the impression he's aiming for.]
I suppose I should have expected as much, for you to be familiar with that story, all things considered... but I'm afraid you are mistaken. I happen to be Johann Faust the fifth. Any story you might be familiar with would be about my ancestor, and even those old tales hold little water.
The fifth? Ah then yes I do apologize. I understand very well what it's like to have a famous ancestor complicate your life long after death.
[All too well unfortunately. Solomon's awful, obnoxious shadow will probably never leave him. Granted, having the man's soul is a little more drastic than being just blood related.
Though he's also realizing that he said a little too much about himself and decides to just close the subject.]
But then, let's leave that aside, Mr. Faust, for both our sakes. Besides such things are nothing more than an interesting anecdote to speak of on occasion.
[Does he, now... well, there's an interesting tidbit to store for another day. But for now, he'll go along with the change of subject.]
Yes, that's true. And really, we ought to start making out way to Wyver! I know I'm not looking forward to another night of camping out here...
[Thankfully they aren't too far from Wyver from here, so William won't have to put up with "Faust" for much longer! And then they part ways because really who wants to deal with this guy longer than they have to??]

Yes, that was very helpful. [So enthusiastic.]

How bothersome.
[He's disappointed in this. Like visibly.]
I suppose adversity is to be expected. [He glanced up at the vines.] Sometimes it takes a physical form and sometimes something less tangible.
